There are many ways that people can love. One thing I have learned is that I need an equal partner. I do not want to be someone's pet. I don't want to obey someone, nor do I wish to dominate someone. I blame the trend in available "Daddys" on Fifty Shades of Grey. I cannot believe that a book where the romantic hero controls what she eats, how often she works out, where she goes, and what she can have in the bedroom was such a blockbuster. He also takes care of all her financial needs so that she doesn't have to worry about being autonomous. He does not ask her what she desires. I read the series and as I did there was this odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. Was it desire? Nope, it was revulsion. It's not the kink, but the mental control that disturbs me.      I may be in the minority here. Several of my friends have told me on more than on occasion that I emasculated my ex. Even cold, strenuous exercise or some medications could cause it. The problem was that it happened to eight people all at the same time. Mary looked at the report and sighed, there was no possible way that all of those divers had all had an accident. She glanced over at the television and saw the story on the evening news loop being described as ...

I awoke before the alarm sounded. I smiled as stillness surrounded me. I grabbed my gear, kissed my wife, and headed out. I had missed spending time alone in the mountains.      I had grown up hiking with my family. I always was the fastest in our family, and I often ended up alone while I waited for them. The time that I spent alone always brought me insight. Sometimes it would be a feeling of peace. Sometimes it would be motivation, prompted by the onset of winter and the promise of good snow. Still other times it would be a thought that would fill my mind and fill me with inspiration. No matter how it happened, it brought me the answers that I sought.      Snow and wind were blowing past the windshield, making it impossible to see the road. I gripped the steering wheel tightly. It may not have been the wisest decision to do this in the dark and snow, but I needed this. I felt the tires lose their grip as the car started sliding...
